Low Power & Low Latency Cloud Cover Detection in Small Satellites Using On-board Neuromorphic Processors
The emergence of small satellites for Earth observation missions has expanded the possibilities for space research while introducing new challenges related to limited power and computational resources due to size and weight constraints. The evolving neuromorphic computing paradigm offers promising energy efficiency, potentially addressing these challenges. This paper, co-authored by BrainChip, explores the applicability of neuromorphic computing for on-board data processing in satellites.
